Memo Assignment

Memo: Choose one of the two options below and write a brief (one page) memo addressing the described audience; make sure to include a subject line that will get your audience’s attention.

1.   Negative: 10-57 (page 317). Message Strategies: Refusing Requests for Recommendations (Daniel Sturgis). This option is found under EMAIL SKILLS at the end of Chapter 10. Make sure to review the textbook material about refusing requests. Although the instructions say to write an email, you are to instead write a memo.

2.   Persuasive: 11-45 (page 348). Message Strategies: Request for Action (WorldConnect Language Services). Make sure you review the textbook material for the AIDA model and how to balance emotional and logical appeals. This option is found under EMAIL SKILLS at the end of Chapter 11. Although the instructions say to write an email, you are to instead write a memo.
