Discussion Thread Topic [250 word thread]

In our lives, we may ‘outsource’ our faith. Today’s society teaches  humanism, creationism, and so many other issues as truth. As a  Christian, how much can we ‘outsource’ (rely on historical account,  science, etc.), and how much scripture needs to be included to refute  these heresies?

  Outsourcing

Outsourcing  the transfer of information system development operation or maintenance  to an outside firm that provides these services for a fee, on a  temporary or long-term basis

According to “MODERN APPROACHES TO OUTSOURCING IN NEW ECONOMY” Thus,  the main purpose of outsourcing is to change an operational process or a  function of an entity/organization with specific experience in that  field in order to get some decreased operational costs and to improve  the products/services quality. Therefore, outsourcing aims at two main  targets: • to reduce the operating costs and to improve the  products/services quality.

When  it comes to our faith with so many different types of religion out  there.  We tend to search for that instant right now what is most  popular in the world. We can look at it as outsourcing. Instead of  getting to know the bible for ourselves.

When  we read Genesis it talks about creation and how God created man In the  beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

We  listen to podcasts instead of building face-to-face relationships with  one another.  According to “Needed Women Disciplers”      Part  of the problem with outsourcing discipleship to national figures is the  lack of accountability when those women make theological missteps. Even  those face-to-face relationships have to be grounded in scripture of  God’s word. You  shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them  when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you  lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:7

Thread 2[Reply 2]

So many things are screaming for our attention, especially in the world  that we live in. For the Christian, it is imperative to use Scripture to  refute any and all things. Within Scripture, there is everything that a  person needs to know about life in general. Prophecy has been fulfilled  time and time again, by using historical evidence to back the claim of  Christ. While we may study science or history, they are not the end all  to our faith. It has been shown that no matter how many different false  religions try and emerge, the “research has been stimulated in part by  the refusal of religion to die away as secularization theorists had  expected” (Lay, 2008). Scripture is essential and the truth by which we  must take a stand. The Bible tells us that “the sum of God’s Word is  truth and every one of His righteous rules endures forever” (Psalm  119:160, ESV). The Bible is also very clear about heresies in general.  Scripture tells the Christian, “do not be led away by diverse and  strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by  grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them”  (Hebrews 13:9, ESV). Since sin is prevalent on the earth, there are  always going to be people devoted to humanism or other cults that go  against the Word of God. “These latter levels include not only  disciplines and structures now widely considered to be thoroughly  secular (e.g., education, journalism, science, medicine, politics and  law)” (Thomas, 2013). In the end, God’s Word is the ultimate Truth and  should be used to gauge everything in a Christian’s life. If it does not  align with God’s Word, then it is a heresy.
