Guidelines on the Preparation of Project Reports

PROFORMA FOR SUBMISSION FOR SEM 2 PROJECT (100 MARKS)

  1. All projects must be typed on A-4 sheets, font size 12, one and half spacing on Executive bond paper.
  2. 1 Rexin bound copies must be submitted along with the soft copy submitted on email to the coordinator.
  3. No student shall attempt the same topic.
  4. All projects must contain the following minimum requirements.

PREPARATORY PARTS:

  1. Cover to be labeled with the report title, the writer’s name (Optional) and the submission date (optional)
  2. The project report shall be from the functional areas of sports management or from the modules of PGP.
  3. The sample text of Front page, First page, and declaration, Certificate, Acknowledgment and Table of Content is given.

TEXT OF THE REPORT:

  1. The project report shall have appropriate Chapter Scheme and be presented in total indicative Pages of min 70.
  2. Introduction
  • Body: It consist of the major sections or chapters (with various level of heading) that present
  • Analysis, and interpret the finding gathered as part of your investigation. These chapters
    contain the “Proof” the detailed information necessary to support your conclusion and
  • Tools of Data Collection (if used) should be specified.
  • Conclusions: – The writer’s analysis of what the findings mean. These are the answers to the questions that led to the report.
  • Recommendations: – Opinions, based on reasons and logic about the course of action that should be taken.

SUPPLEMENTARY PARTS:

  1. Acknowledgments & Bibliography: You have ethical and legal obligations to give the other People credit for their work.
  2. Acknowledging your source also enhance the credibility of Your Report. By citing reference of Books & Websites in the Text you demonstrate that you thoroughly researched the topic.
  3. Annexure
  4. Sample questionnaires (if used).

Note: The Declaration & Certificate should be attached in the Prescribed Proforma which shall be provided by the coordinator/guide.

OTHER IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:

1) Students should use simple and good English while writing the report. Avoid grammatical errors.

2) The problem and objectives should be clearly stated. Avoid ambiguity.

3) No aspects of the structure of the report should be omitted.

4) Important to include Bibliography, List of tables, Certificate from guide and acknowledgments.

5) Every page of the project should have to project topic as Header and page no. as footer.

 

*Data in Your Project:
Types – primary data and secondary data.

  1. Primary data –

-it is the original data directly about the product and market.
-it did not exist before.
-it is designed to answer specific questions of interest to the business.
-getting data by questionnaire from various people.

Eg.-
1)Face-to-face interview-
Interviewers ask people on the street or on their doorstep a series of questions.
2)Telephone interview-
Similar questions of face-to-face interview although often shorter. This kind is preferred to be avoided.
3) questionnaires with options.
4) online surveys.

  1. Secondary data –

Sources-
– Journals,
– Government reports,
– Reports collected by institutions,
– Newspapers,
– Reference books,
– Magazines,
– Websites.
-it is already written data. Convert the data into ur own words. It should be in passive voice.
Eg- researcher has done………
There should be no usage of ‘I’, ‘we’. The data should not be downloaded from websites or copied from the reference books directly. The data should be related to the research.

*How to use data?

-analyse primary data (if it is survey) and draw conclusions.
-conclusion – ‘maximum people whom I had asked say they…..’
-primary data can be converted into graphs and tables.
-analysis will lead to one’s conclusion of the project.

 

*Use of computer for analysis:
1. Microsoft Excel
2. Microsoft Access

 

 

 

 

*CHAPTER 1

– Introduction of topic
Introduction of project
-it should be written as third person.
-title of the project.
-objectives of the study (benefits of that topic)
-methodology (how will you collect data)
-presentation of the study.

*CHAPTER 2

-company profile
-important information of the company.
-highlights of the company
-information of products or history.

 

*CHAPTER 3 – Literature Review

-Secondary data from various sources

 

*CHAPTER 4 – Research Design & Research Methodology

It should be more than Findings, Conclusion, Suggestions.
It contains analysed primary data collected and interpretation of the data.
“This company is using this method…..”
Suggestions/recommendations are based on the conclusion.

*ANNEXURE

Bibliography
Eg. LOMIN, DG. Cyclotron waves in Plasma.Translated by AN, Dellis; edited by SM Hamberger, 1st ed. Oxford : Pergamon Press, 1981, 206p.
-name of the book, author, publisher, edition.

 

  • to add annexure is compulsory.
  • Secondary data – annexure required.
  • Survey method should be done on 150-200 people and there should be proof of people’s address, name and phone no.
  • Depending on the topic the student can seek guidance from any faculty of the program.
  • Not more than 12 students can be guided by the same faculty.
  • Project should be submitted in both hard and soft copy.
  • Soft copy to be emailed to the coordinator.
  • MATT finish.
  • Fonts – Times New Roman 12, space 1.5 for the whole project.
  • Chapter names can be in different font sizes.
  • The total project should be of 70-90 pages.
